A seed phrase is a list of 12 or 24 words used to restore access to your wallet and manage assets on it.

Since June 2026, new wallets are created with a 12-word seed phrase by default (previously 24). This is purely a convenience changeโ€”12-word and 24-word phrases are equally safe and reliable. Losing your seed phrase means losing access to your wallet, so it's crucial to choose the best method for storing it.
