# How to create an offline wallet?

Since **My Wallet 4.10**, you can create a new wallet **without connecting to the internet**, for a real **air-gapped cold-storage** setup.

## How it works

The entire process happens **on your device**: your keys are generated and stored **locally**, and the wallet stays **offline and fully isolated** from the internet and any wireless networks until you choose to connect it.

Turn off your device's internet connection (airplane mode, with Wi-Fi and mobile data off) before generating the wallet.

Complete the wallet creation. Your **seed phrase** and keys are generated and stored on your device only.

## Using an offline wallet

You can use this wallet for **long-term, cold storage** of assets. Any funds sent to it will arrive as usual on-chain; the **balance updates once My Wallet goes online again**.
