# What are decentralized applications (dapps)?

**Dapps** (decentralized applications) are programs that run on the [**blockchain**](/intro/introduction-to-crypto-and-my-wallet/what-is-the-blockchain.md) without relying on central servers. To interact with them, you need a crypto wallet, such as **My Wallet**.

With **My Wallet**, you can:

* Connect to dapps.
* Earn rewards.
* Make purchases and transactions.
* Unlock additional features.
